TTT GROUP TO ESTABLISH A HOT ISOSTATIC PRESSING BUSINESS UNIT

TTT Group will launch a business unit dedicated to hot isostatic pressing (HIP) in 2027. The initiative includes the installation of a HIP 107 system manufactured by Hiperbaric and represents the largest investment made by the company in its 65-year history.

The equipment can operate at pressures of up to 2,000 bar and temperatures of up to 1,400°C, with the option of reaching 2,000°C. It also includes a fast-cooling system that can combine material consolidation with selected heat-treatment cycles.

HIP technology reduces internal porosity in metals and ceramics, increases density and improves properties such as fatigue strength, toughness and ductility. It is particularly relevant for critical components and parts produced using additive manufacturing.

The new capacity will primarily serve the aerospace, space and energy sectors, while also covering potential applications in oil and gas, biomedicine and scientific infrastructure. The unit will extend TTT Group’s current range of heat and surface treatments.

The project builds on the company’s participation in HIP4AE, an R&D initiative within the Hazitek programme involving an industrial consortium and the CEIT technology centre.
