MONDRAGON UNIBERTSITATEA PRESENTS THREE MATERIAL-FORMING STUDIES AT ICTP

Researchers from the material-forming group at Mondragon Goi Eskola Politeknikoa have presented three papers at the 14th International Conference on the Technology of Plasticity (ICTP). The conference periodically brings together international specialists in material-forming processes.

Joseba Mendiguren presented research on reducing springback in AA5754 aluminium alloy through a post-forming electroplastic effect. The work was carried out within the HEAPLAS project in cooperation with the University of the Basque Country.

Lander Galdos presented an in-plane bending test for characterising edge ductility at warm temperatures. The research forms part of the HEATFORM project, involving Elay, Teknorot and Hacettepe University.

Julen Agirre addressed the effect of strain rate on the mechanical and microstructural properties of Ti-6Al-4V titanium alloy in hammer-forging applications. The work was carried out within the TIFORGE project in cooperation with ULMA Forged Solutions.

The contributions combine fundamental and applied research and build on the university group’s cooperation with industrial companies and other academic institutions.
